I haven’t been doing much productive for the past few days, just kinda taking a rest after getting etboo v2 mostly going while thinking about how to implement the rest. I have been catching up on watching anime lately. I just finished Cowboy Bebop and am most of the way through The Vision of Escaflowne. Why can’t we come up with shows of that quality over here in the US?
There has been a lot going on since I last posted. etboo v2 is now up and running. There are still some bugs I am ironing out, but it is mostly there and functioning. Last weekend I went to Houston to visit Melissa :) It was a really good trip.
The IRC server is finally up and operating at irc.etboo.net . There is a web based java client there or you can use a normal IRC client to connect. There are still some bugs, and not everything works like we want yet, but it does work. I think the new etboo forums and new v2 look will go up very soon. The current forums are getting to be too much trouble to moderate.
More IRC server configuration, it is still slow going. I have found some more information on doing what I want to do in photoshop and am getting more satisfactory results. I have learned quite a few things about photoshop that I didn’t know before, especially about layers and all the color correction controls.
I have been messing with the IRC server some more, it is slow going. I have also been playing with enhancing pics in photoshop. It is kind of difficult because all the photoshop tutorials on the web seem to deal with making 3D buttons and other effects instead of real photo manipulation procedures and theory.
Well, I was planning to work more on etboo v2 today, but I have ended up spending all night trying to set up an irc server. Trying to learn how to correctly administer an IRC server is about on par with trying to learn CIA secrets by walking up to the front desk of the headquarters and asking. They make it intentionally difficult to figure out what’s going on, and it’s near impossible if you don’t know someone that’s already knows what to do. I think we finally have it after much work.
